- *Landman* is receiving its flowers.

- The Academy of Country Music announced it will honor the series with its ACM Film Award at its 19th ACM Honors event in August.

- The award is given to films, television shows, or TV movies that incorporate country music into their soundtracks.

Award season is booming for *Landman*.

On Wednesday, the Academy of Country Music announced that Paramount+’s fiery oil drama starring Billy Bob Thornton and Demi Moore will be honored with the ACM Film Award at its 19th ACM Honors event in Nashville in August.

Despite its title, the ACM Film Award actually not only celebrates feature films but also television series, or television movies so long as they were released within the last calendar year and prominently incorporate country music into their soundtracks.

Previous recipients include the Connie Britton–led *Nashville*, the Glen Powell–fronted *Twisters*, and Gwyneth Paltrow’s* Country Strong*.

Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, *Landman* follows fixer Tommy Norris (Thornton) as he navigates the increasingly volatile — and, at times, downright dangerous — oil and gas industry in West Texas. He is accompanied on the explosive journey by a star-studded cast that includes Moore, Sam Elliott, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Mark Collie, and more.

This is *Landman*’s first major award, though the series has earned Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice, and Actor Awards nominations in the past. In March, it took home the award for Best Cast – Television Series at the 2026 Satellite Awards.

And it’s a fitting award at that. Landman has leaned heavily into its country roots for its soundtrack since its first season, frequently featuring artists like Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan, George Strait, Ella Langley, Lainey Wilson, Parker McCollum, and, most notably, its stars Thornton and Collie.

The duo co-wrote, composed, and produced multiple songs while shooting the last two seasons of the show, several of which were subsequently included in an album titled* Landman - Songs From and Inspired by the Paramount+ Original Series (Volume I)* released last September.

Thornton and Collie are credited with contributing to five of the album’s 15 tracks. They are listed as co-writers on  “Livin’ It Up Down In Texas,” performed by ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, as well as McCollum’s “She’ll Dance For Whiskey.”

The musicians also receive composing credits on Dwight Yoakam’s “That’s What Lonely People Do” and Ronnie Dunn’s "Blood for Black Gold," the latter of which features Thornton on drums. They are also the sole songwriters listed for the track “Midland After Midnight," which is performed on the album by Flatland Cavalry.

Thornton previously told ** that music began flowing out of him and Collie while they were shooting season 1 of the show back in 2024.

“We wrote a couple of songs [that] were kind of inspired by the area, that business world," he said at the time. "We'll see if they end up on anything. And maybe they will, maybe they won't, but they're at least there.”

And the beat will continue on as the show gears up to shoot its upcoming third season, which was greenlit by Paramount last December.

The 19th ACM Honors will be held at the Pinnacle in Nashville on Aug. 19.
