Wren Sinclair, Zaria Chase History in Title Unification Match at NXT Heatwave

Wren Sinclair and Zaria are set for a huge match at NXT Heatwave on August 30, with both of their championships on the line. The WWE Women’s Speed Champion and NXT Women’s North American Champion will meet in a historic title unification match. The winner will leave Heatwave with both titles.

The match was announced during the August 11 episode of NXT after Sinclair asked NXT General Manager Robert Stone for another match with Zaria.

Wren Sinclair and Zaria will battle to unify the NXT Women’s Speed and North American Championships

The rivalry between Sinclair and Zaria has come together pretty quickly. Their first major confrontation happened on July 28. Zaria was looking for stronger competition after becoming frustrated with the challengers around her.

Sinclair stepped up and reminded her of Sol Ruca’s run as a double champion. That led Stone to book the two champions against each other.

They first met on August 4, with Sinclair defending her WWE Women’s Speed Championship. However, neither woman could score the victory before time ran out. Sinclair kept the championship because of the time-limit draw, but the result also earned her a future shot at Zaria’s NXT Women’s North American Championship.

Zaria was not happy with how things ended. After the match, she attacked Sinclair and hit her with an F-5, adding even more heat to their rivalry.

But Sinclair wanted more than just a rematch. She offered to put her WWE Women’s Speed Championship on the line as well. Stone agreed, turning the match into a winner-take-all showdown.

The two champions met again on August 11, this time with Zaria’s North American Championship on the line.

Both wrestlers gave their best. However, at the end of the match, Saquon Shugars and Dion Lennox, who had been fighting earlier that night, brought their brawl into the area around the ring.

Cutler James also showed up with a chair. Sinclair tried to stop the interference and even dropkicked the chair out of the ring.

But the distraction gave Zaria the chance she needed. The North American champion hit Sinclair with an F-5 and won the match.

But Sinclair was not willing to accept the loss. Later in the show, she went to Stone and demanded another opportunity. Stone accepted the idea, setting up the historic unification match at Heatwave.

Sol Ruca is the only wrestler who has previously held both the WWE Women’s Speed Championship and NXT Women’s North American Championship at the same time. Ruca won the Speed Championship in April 2025 and then captured the vacant North American Championship at NXT Stand & Deliver just a few days later.

Now, Sinclair and Zaria have a chance to join Ruca in the history books.
