USA TODAY Sports high school football national champions since 1982
The USA TODAY Sports Super 25 franchise first appeared in 1982, with its high school football rankings becoming a staple across the country, and presses on into the fifth decade of highlighting the gridiron's best of the best.
The 2025 season saw a Georgia program capture its first national championship, ending what's largely been a lengthy reign of west coast dominance over the last decade.
This season continued the competitive trend, with multiple teams appearing in the top five as the 2025 calendar moved from September to the playoff push in December.
