Sharon Osbourne revealed that Ozzy Osbourne "knew" he was nearing the end of his life after Black Sabbath's final show

Sharon Osbourne revealed Ozzy Osbourne "knew" he was nearing the end of his life before Black Sabbath's final performance.

In a Saturday, Feb. 21 interview on the Dumb Blonde podcast, the businesswoman and TV personality reflected on the time leading up to when Ozzy died at the age of 76 in July 2025, just two weeks after the Back to the Beginning performance at England’s Villa Par

“Two weeks before the show, they said he could probably die, and he did," Sharon, 73, told Bunnie Xo. "But he wanted to do it so bad."

She added, "He needed it. And [he was] like, ‘Whether I die in two weeks or I die in six months, I’m still dying. And I want to go my way.’"

Sharon noted that "he did." "He went like a rock star," she said.

Elsewhere in the interview, she recalled her late husband battling sepsis earlier in 2025, which made aware that it was realistic he could be approaching his final days.

“When he came out [of hospital], they said, ‘You know, Ozzy, this could kill you.’ And he said, ‘I’m doing my show.’ He went out like a king,” said Sharon.

She added, "The thing is when you’ve lived your life that way, it was, like, ‘OK, six months more to go out the way I want to go out.'"

Sharon compared it to someone who is "really old" and "still smoking."

"You’re like ‘Just let him smoke. Leave him alone. He’s 78.’ He went the way he wanted to go. He knew," she said.

Sharon also note that his death was “so quick”, and called him “a king”.

“He loved people. He loved his audience. He loved them so much. And even if you didn’t like his music, you couldn’t dislike him,” she said.

Sharon also pointed out that she's found it "hard" to deal with his death.

"I’m getting there. It’s hard,” she said. “I’m gonna keep working and I’m going to keep doing what I do in my life. And that’s it."

Earlier this month, Sharon shared how touched she was by the Ozzy Osbourne tribute from Post Malone, Slash, Duff McKagan, Andrew Watt and Chad Smith, who performed "War Pigs" from Black Sabbath’s Paranoid album. at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

"Last night was bigger than a performance. It was a moment carved into musical history. Reminding everyone that rock isn’t nostalgia - it’s alive, evolving, and still the heartbeat of music," she wrote on Instagram.

Sharon not only shared a clip of the performance, but also an emotional caption, where she gave special shoutouts to the performers. “@postmalone you were pure magic, a shapeshifter with a voice that can bend into any genre. @slash @duffmckagan @thisiswatt @chadsmithofficial you are the masters of your craft and complete icons.”

"Truly from the bottom of my heart, thank you ❤️ Ozzy was definitely in the building ✌️ 🙏🤘," she wrote.
