Nara Smith regularly soothes social media with her tranquil voiceovers, but that doesn't mean she feels serene all the time.
On Monday, May 4, the content creator posted a TikTok opening up about some of the more difficult emotions she experiences and how she copes with them. The video follows Nara, 24, as she prepared to go on a week-long work trip in Los Angeles while her husband, Lucky Blue Smith, and their four children stayed in Connecticut.
"Even though I always seem really calm, there's moments where I feel extremely anxious and stressed," the Homemade cookbook author said over footage of her speaking with Lucky, 27. "Over the years, I've gathered tools to help me, for me to move through those emotions."

She continued, "When situations arise that make me feel anxious or stressed, I know how to handle them, which doesn't mean it's always perfect, but I give myself grace."
The German-South African model said she "felt slightly anxious" about leaving Lucky and her kids — son Slim Easy, 4, and daughters Rumble Honey, 5, Whimsy Lou, 2 and Fawnie Golden, 6 months. Nara explained that before she goes somewhere, she makes sure to prepare by grocery shopping and making sure her family has meals to eat while she's away. She also tended to her garden.

"Sometimes when I'm trying to do a lot of things, I forget to eat, so I always remind myself to do that," Nara added. Meanwhile, she said Lucky packed her bag and made sure she got out of the house all right when it was time for her to head to the airport for her flight.
The cooking creator explained that she usually sleeps on planes, but "had a lot of work to do," including some editing for her upcoming debut book of recipes, which is set to release on Oct. 13, 2026. Upon landing in L.A., Nara admitted she was "pretty exhausted" and keen to settle in.

"I was excited to get back to the hotel, take off my makeup, hop in the shower, before ordering some food and watching Wuthering Heights," she recalled. "Sometimes I build things up in my head to make them seem a lot more daunting than they are, and the reality looks a lot different."
