Mindy Kaling is celebrating her youngest on her special day.
The Running Point creator, 46, shared a heartfelt tribute to her daughter Anne on Instagram, showing several pictures of her toddler over the years. In one snap, she shared a snap of her little girl standing near her presents and balloons.
"I can barely take how much I love my Annie girl," Kaling began in her heartfelt message. "She is the top of the Christmas tree, a surprise bite of cookie dough, the baby of the family who made us complete.""She loves to sing, wake up with very specific outfit plans, and kisses the pages of her books," the mom of three continued. "She truly believes Elmo is a member of our family. Happy 2nd birthday to our Tiny Jones as @souljagirlllll calls her, little Ponyo, literally the best ever. I love you, Anne Kaling!
In addition to daughter Anne, the actress is also a mother to son Spencer, 5, and daughter Katherine, 8. During an appearance on the Thursday, March 6 episode of Today, Kaling spoke with anchor Savannah Guthrie about how her life has changed since she became a mother of three children.
Kaling told the broadcaster that having three little ones drastically changed the look and feel of her home.
"When I had two children, I felt like you would go to my house, and it was like, ‘Ahh, a tasteful, colorful home with a woman who has children,' " she said. "And now it looks like I run a preschool of 40 children. There’s weird mechanical toys going up. You step on LEGOs. It really is more of a mess."
Last February, when celebrating her daughter Anne's first birthday, Kaling admitted to host Jimmy Kimmel that she feels "a little guilty" when it comes to her children's birthday parties before they turn 4. The mom of three told him that she likes to keep things "very low-key" in the beginning.

"I'm not proud of this, but for the first four years of birthday parties for my kids, I am so cheap," she admitted. "I don't invite the hundred people over. It's just me and my kids and we do something at my dad and stepmom's house."
When Kimmel responded by saying that it is a "normal" birthday party, Kaling added, "Yes, but you know in L.A., when Maroon 5 isn't showing up to sing, you feel guilty. You feel a little guilty when you see [big parties] on Instagram."

Kaling recently spoke with Dax Shepard on an episode of his podcast, Armchair Expert, about her family life, where she shared how her good friend, Reese Witherspoon empowered her to start having kids.
"[Raising children alone] scared me for the longest time and then it was Reese Witherspoon — I was getting ready to shoot a movie and it got delayed for some reason and I was like, 'Ah, well I'm going to just wait,' and she was like, 'Do this. Do not wait until it's too late,' " she said of Witherspoon. "We were in her trailer in a field in New Zealand, and she's like, 'If you want this, you have to do it now.'"
"And, she listed some people that I knew of, but not known personally — some very famous women — who waited, and then it was too late," she continued. "It's only possible because I waited until I was 37 to have my daughter because I had disposable income, I have my nanny, [and] I have my dad who helps."
