Meryl Streep revealed what type of grandparent she is.
During her appearance on the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Only Murders in the Building star, 76, shared rare comments about her life as a grandma of six. Streep told host Jimmy Kimmel that she doesn't think she's a "cool" grandmother, comparing herself to her iconic character in The Devil Wears Prada.
"I don't know," she said, pondering the question. "I think I'm a little like Miranda Priestley as a grandma because I like the rules, dear."
Streep has six grandkids — her son, Henry, shares a daughter and son with wife Tamryn; her daughter, Mamie, shares a son and daughter with estranged husband Mehar Sethi; and her daughter, Grace, shares two daughters with husband Mark Ronson.
Elsewhere in the conversation, the doting parental figure and Oscar-winning actress shared the sweet name her grandchildren call her. She also revealed who came up with the moniker.
"They call me Mimi," she said. "The first one came up with it."
Earlier this month, the actress spoke alongside Anna Wintour in a new article for Vogue and gave a glimpse into her role as a grandmother. During the interview, interviewer Greta Gerwig asked Streep about being a grandmother, first noting that the star is "incredibly involved."

"Some say over-involved," joked Streep, who was then asked how she balances this new job with her career.
"It's just grabbing seconds, just grabbing everything you can of them, with the knowledge of how completely fleeting it all is and how rapidly time goes," she explained. "This is what my mother said to me, and I said, 'Yeah, yeah.' "

"It's the longest, shortest time. And you can't get anything back. So take as much as you can... I find it divine," continued Streep. "I have six grandchildren, six under six. They're six, five, four, three, two and one. I hope we're not done, but we'll see."
The actress also shared that she's grateful to her adult children for allowing her to spend a lot of time around her grandkids.
"I can't even talk about how much it means to me that my kids give me as much time as they do with their kids," shared Streep. "The only thing is that they're on two coasts, so I'm in the airplane a lot."
