Thompson credited his time making the Mighty Ducks movies with sparking his own interest in hockey during a 2022 interview with ESPN. Disney even founded the NHL's Anaheim Ducks in the 1990s after making the first Mighty Ducks film.

"It's always been super-duper love. Hockey fans can get a little rowdy after the game and stuff, but they just want to shout out The Mighty Ducks and tell me how much they meant to them, how it kept them motivated on their hockey paths," Thompson told the outlet at the time. "It's always been a lot of love."

At the end of the Good Sports segment, Thompson took another moment to reiterate his love for the sport and his place in it, thanks to Mighty Ducks.

"I think it's the coolest thing in sports. We're the only team from a movie and we're a legit team. You know what I'm saying? The Ducks conquered as we do because we fly together, we win together," he shared.

"Knuckle Puck forever. That's all I can say. Russ Tyler signing out."

The season finale of Good Sports airs on Tuesday., Feb. 24 at 5:00 p.m. PT on Prime Video.
