Richard Osman claims Jack Lowden has entered the latest James Bond casting mix.
Osman discussed Bond casting rumors on The Rest Is Entertainment. He told co-host Marine Hyde that he had heard a definite name. However, he admitted claims had surfaced before.
“The name I’ve heard is Jack Lowden,” Osman said. He later clarified that Lowden had not definitely landed the part. Instead, he claimed the actor was “strongly considered” for the role.
“I think he’d be amazing,” Osman added about Lowden. Hyde backed the casting possibility. She called Lowden an incredible Bond and praised his age for 007.
Hyde compared Lowden’s screen presence to Daniel Craig. She said the actor had “real Daniel Craig energy.” Lowden, 36, has built a reputation through television and film.
Lowden is best known for playing River Cartwright in Slow Horses. The series follows British intelligence officers navigating complicated missions. His role could make him a natural choice for another famous spy franchise.
Lowden will also appear as Mr. Darcy. He will play the character in Netflix’s upcoming Pride & Prejudice adaptation. His expanding profile could strengthen his position among Bond contenders.

Still, Osman’s comments remain unconfirmed. The presenter acknowledged that he did not know whether Lowden would get the role. The casting process has generated numerous rumors.
Producer Amy Pascal recently offered a timeline for the announcement. She suggested audiences could learn the next Bond’s identity by year’s end. Pascal said the team was being “really, really methodical.”
The next Bond film will be directed by Denis Villeneuve. Steven Knight is writing the screenplay for the upcoming movie. Amazon MGM Studios has also taken creative control.
Other rumored contenders include Callum Turner, Henry Cavill, and Harris Dickinson. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Tom Holland have also appeared in speculation. For now, Lowden’s reported involvement remains intriguing.
