Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is set to post its quarterly results ahead of Thursday’s opening bell.

Recent options pricing suggests traders see the company’s U.S.-listed shares swinging up to 4% by the end of the week.

Analysts expect TSMC to report another strong quarter as demand for AI hardware booms.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is set to report earnings ahead of Thursday’s opening bell, with traders expecting a move that could bring the shares closer to their recent record.

Based on current options pricing, TSMC’s (TSM) U.S.-listed shares are seen swinging up to 4% by the end of the week. A move of that size from Tuesday’s close could lift the shares back above $460, approaching last week’s record, or drag them below $430.

The chipmaker’s shares have gained close to 50% since the start of the year as orders of chips to help meet AI demand grow.

Why This Matters to Investors

As the world’s largest contract chip manufacturer, TSMC’s results serve as a key bellwether for demand in the AI chip industry.

TSMC topped estimates with its last quarterly report back in July, but the stock’s gains were limited as the results came amid a rough stretch for the AI trade. Investors and analysts have become harder to impress in recent quarters, amid concerns about the durability of AI demand.

Last week, TSMC said it generated 511.86 billion New Taiwan dollars ($15.9 billion) in sales in September, putting its third-quarter total of July through September at 1.49 trillion New Taiwan dollars. That’s growth of about 50% from the same time a year ago. Earnings are expected to come in at 141.25 New Taiwan dollars per ADR, according to Visible Alpha estimates.

Wall Street analysts are overwhelmingly bullish on TSMC’s stock ahead of Thursday’s report, with all eight analysts tracked by Visible Alpha recommending buying the chipmaker’s stock.
