Deidre Hall has yet to welcome her biggest fan Ryan Gosling to the *Days of Our Lives** *set.

Gosling accepted an invitation to the soap opera set from Hall and previously called her his "OG acting inspiration" for her role as Dr. Marlena Evans on the program since 1976.

However, "that stinker has not been there yet," Hall said in an episode of *The TV Watercooler** *podcast. "And I hear he's got some film out there that's taken a lot of his time and he has to go promote it."

"If one more person calls and says, 'The day that he's there, may I come visit you?' I mean, everybody is so excited to meet him and to see him."

“The amount they have to memorize the night before. Like, 10 pages of dialogue. They get one take, and it's impossible scenarios, like when Marlena, Deidre Hall — we know Deidre Hall — gets possessed. This is right around when *X Files* was a big deal, right? Suddenly, everything got supernatural. She was possessed by the devil. So Deidre Hall has to suddenly, after playing just a normal person, then she's [not].”

Hall reacted to Gosling's praise in an Instagram video, noting that everyone on set watched the podcast clip together and extending him an invite. "We played it in the dressing room, and we played it in the makeup room, and we're just thrilled to be acknowledged and to be so well spoken of," she said. "Because we work really hard, as you acknowledged."

"We think it would be nice if you wanted to come over and see what we do in our neck of the woods. So this is an open invitation to visit the *Days of Our Lives* set."

Gosling enthusiastically accepted via an Instagram video posted on *Project Hail Mary*'s social media page.

"Deidre Hall, are you kidding me?" Gosling exclaimed. "Yes. This is a very enthusiastic yes to a very cordial invitation to visit you on set. I will be there to thank you in person for being my OG acting inspiration. It wasn't Marlon Brando in *On the Waterfront*. It wasn't [Robert] De Niro in *Taxi Driver*. It was you."

Elsewhere in the interview, the soap opera actress reflected on her 50 years as Dr. Marlena Evans on *Days of Our Lives*.

"It's just one of those miracles that I get to enjoy. You know, you get a job, you're an actor, you come to the set, you have no idea. You've got a 13-week contract — if they like you. That it's been 50 years is ridiculous to me. I mean, I still feel this little sense of relief when my key card opens the gate at work and I get to go in and play with people that I love and enjoy and respect."

"That it's been 50 years is, it's beyond. It's just beyond. I am deeply grateful."
