Danielle Fishel spoke about having a "repulsive" experience with laxatives during a Thursday, June 25, episode of the Pod Meets World podcast

Co-hosts Will Friedle and Rider Strong joined her in discussing experiences that have brought them closer together

Fishel was just 12 years old when she began working alongside Friedle and Strong on Boy Meets World

Danielle Fishel is opening up about an embarrassing road trip.

During part one of the Pod Meets World podcast episodes, titled Q&A Meets World: The End of the Recap Era, that dropped on Thursday, June 25, Fishel, 45, and her co-hosts, Will Friedle and Rider Strong, spoke candidly about experiences that have brought them closer together since they starred in the '90s show, Boy Meets World.

Fishel joked that they "got probably too comfortable" with their travel habits while on the road when their show went on tour, recalling a bathroom situation that left her red-faced.

"I don't always keep my same bathroom habits when I travel. Unfortunately, my body just changes," she said. "So there was one time I was like, 'Guys, I don't know what to do. It's been a few days since I've been to the bathroom.' I had to take some very strong laxatives."

"We had to pull over on the side of the road," Friedle, 49, chimed in.

Fishel recalled going on to use the "most repulsive Porta-Potty" at a nearby gas station.

"There were probably spiders," Strong, 46, joked.

"You know what? I couldn't have cared, I couldn't have cared, it wouldn't have mattered. It would have been at the side of the road or in the Porta-Potty," Fishel said, adding, "So, we've learned a lot about each other."

While struggling to stop laughing, Friedle revealed Fishel's celebration after the mortifying bathroom experience was captured on camera, as she returned to their vehicle with her hands in the air.

"I was thrilled, I felt like a new person," she recalled.

The confession came after the trio discussed how often Friedle would change his underwear while they were on tour.

"We got to talk regularly about what underwear Will was currently wearing," said Fishel. "He would then show us, and then he'd say, 'I'm going to go and change into these for the live show.' So then we'd know what underwear he was wearing for the live show."

While speaking exclusively to PEOPLE earlier this year, Fishel gushed about having the opportunity to sit down with Strong and Friedle for their weekly podcast.

The actress played Topanga Lawrence on Boy Meets World, while Strong appeared as Shawn Hunter and Friedle played Eric Matthews. The trio reprised their roles for the Disney sequel, Girl Meets World, which aired from 2014 to 2017.

"Being with friends who have known you since you were 12 years old, and are willing to support you through the highs and lows of your life, and now to be raising families together and to see them thrive, those kinds of relationships really remind you what life is about," Fishel told PEOPLE.
