Colin Farrell appeared on The View and engaged in a lively existential conversation about death.
During the chat, the Sugar star turned toward 83-year-old cohost Joy Behar and told her "the grim reaper is coming" for her eventually.

The View cohosts welcomed the Sugar actor to the Hot Topics table for an interview about season 2 of his hit Apple TV series, which turned into a lively discussion about death and existential dread (for which he was later censored on the air) bright and early Wednesday morning.
After the panelists had earlier discussed together a topic about having a mid-life crisis, 83-year-old cohost Joy Behar asked Farrell about turning 50 this year on his May 31 birthday.

"I love getting older," the Oscar-nominated Banshees of Inisherin star said, before explaining that, in his earlier years, he navigated existential questions about his life and impact on the world. "As you get older, that stuff kind of fades away, you know? Life is so short. If you're lucky to live to 80 or 90, it's just a blip. I think we don't talk about death enough."
Behar voiced agreement with the sentiment, while Farrell continued, "We all fear it. It's the one thing that all of us," before Behar sang a number from the musical Dreamgirls when she replied, "Not me! I'm not going. And I am telling you, I'm not going!"
Without missing a beat, Farrell turned toward her and said, "That grim reaper is coming for you as well, sister! All of us!"
Behar contorted her face at the response, before quipping, "But not today!"
Farrell doubled down on his prior note, telling the audience that conversations about death "shouldn't be this big, fearsome thing," but that he's "not okay with it" at all.

He was then censored after appearing to say, "I s--- myself" when he's "in an airplane that hits turbulence" mid-flight.
"I don't want to die! I want life to slow down," he said. "I love getting older, but I love to tap the brakes a little bit."

Issues of legacy and existentialism have long come up on The View, including a July 2024 instance where moderator Whoopi Goldberg gave the studio audience an important morning reminder that "everybody's gonna die."
In a July 2023 episode, Goldberg earlier discussed a mandate in her will that prevents her likeness from being used in a hologram after she dies.

"They don't ask you, that's the thing. They just do it, and then you go, 'Hey, isn't that Tupac? Wait a minute, didn't Tupac die? What is he doing up on...' Yeah, see, I don't want that. It's a little freaky, creepy," Goldberg said at the time.
"Yeah, my estate doesn't want it," Goldberg added. "My estate wants to be left alone."
